Wonderful Weekend

We stayed with friends at Fairbank House on a cold July weekend. The house was cosy and warm and so well appointed that we required nothing extra ! Everything is thought of, from fluffy throw rugs, a bottle of wine to a coffee pod machine. I love the thoughtful little extras in the kitchen too. The garden is gorgeous and birds abound. This was our second visit and shall rebook soon. Love this house. Thanks Jamie for your warm hospitality.

A real home away from home

Spent a wonderful short 3 night stay at Fairbanks House (but would loved to have stayed muuuch longer) with two of my girls. So warm, cosy and yet spacious. Everything you could think of was on hand - plus all those extra little touches such as the super and delicious hamper - which just made our stay that much more special. Teresa and Jamie was so easy to deal with and nothing was too much trouble (even arrived home to a new one on the bench when the toaster packed it in). This home away from home and the surrounding region will certainly beckon us back again and we look forward to making this an annual tradition for a mother/daughter catch-up.

Beautiful Maldon

Our family of four, plus 2 spoiled pugs, stayed at Fairbank House for a cool but delightfully sunny weekend in May. Fairbank House is spacious and comfortable. There are two master bedrooms, each with an ensuite. The only problem was deciding which child got the ensuite bedroom! The kitchen is well equipped and the dining room was large enough for us to easily host dinner for family friends who were also in Maldon for the weekend. Definitely recommend.

We booked Fairbank for a reuniun of workmates - 6 in Total and we were extermely happy with Fairbank.. We had an enthuastic amateur chef who cooked during our two night stay so the kitchen was important, it was well equipped and served us well, The ladies enjoyed the warmth provided by central heating and the open fire. A great place to getaway and either do nothing to enjoy the accommodation or stroll around maldon.. Recommended..

Top place to stay. Warm, clean, comfortable, peaceful with a sweet cottage garden to explore. Maldon village is friendly with past times heritage. Station with working steam engine just a stone's throw from the house. Host Jamie is friendly and very easy to communicate with. House has charm along with all modern conveniences.

A magical holiday

We had such a wonderful time. The house was well-appointed and tastefully decorated with extensive kid-friendly gardens. It was warm and comfy, and we just loved staying here! Jamie was attentive and friendly, very welcoming. I highly recommend this property.

We had heard about Maldon from one of our friends who lived there some years ago. A search on the web turned up Fairbank House and we booked in online for a ten day stay. The website does not do justice to the house - it is absolutely marvellous. More than comfortable, superbly equipped with every requirement for a very relaxing stay in place. Maldon itself is a bit laid back during the week but comes alive during the weekends. We enjoyed the coffee shops, the antique shops, the art gallery and the steam train journey to nearby Castlemaine. Maldon is an easy drive to Castlemaine, Bendigo, Daylesford, Ballarat and the surrounding countryside so we were never short of something to do. We found out quite by accident that our host, Jamie Heffernan, was a concierge for Sofitel hotels in Korea and Japan in a previous life. His experience in ensuring that his guests are totally looked after shows through. Apart from a multitude of plush towels [a must for my wife] he left the fridge and pantry well stacked with high-end provisions for us to start our stay without care. He even let Philomena harvest some lemons from the tree out back which she preserved as soon as we got home. Altogether a truly marvellous experience.

We had a wonderful time staying at Fairbank House. The house was large and very comfortable. We really appreciated the fridge being filled with the local products including a lovely bottle of red wine to start our holiday. A lovely gesture. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious. We went to the Spotted Cow restaurant that Jamie from FH advised us. It was fabulous and walking distance to the town. Would recommend this lovely accommodation.

This house is ideal for a small group or family to stay. It has an old world country feel, from the gorgeous period furniture to the well maintained cottage garden. There are lots of nooks and crannies to sit and while away the day. The facilities are clean and well stocked with household items, to make your stay easy.

We stay in this house every year and love it. Enough space for a group. Beautiful gardens, outdoor spaces, a warm fire, ensuites, a beautiful dining room with great acoustics for playing music, spacious well stocked kitchen, short walk to town and walking tracks....and Jamie is a dream to deal with. Couldnt ask for anything more. Highly recommended, but warning you, you may not want to leave.
