Laurel Cottage

Built in the 1860s by Welshman John Lewis, who made his fortune on the goldfields, this historic  cottage retains its traditional layout and feel with 3 bedrooms and dining room at the front, and then steps down to the modernized kitchen originally built as a separate building, and which now opens onto the cove roofed comfortable lounge. 

Nestled within a rambling garden, within walking distance to Maldon’s cafes, Laurel Cottage offers delightful accommodation with old world charm.  Curl up in front of the wood fire in winter, enjoy the patio, or laze on the lawn under the trees in the summer months. Whether you're after a relaxing getaway or a base for exploring the area it's the perfect stay for a couple or small group, and comfortable for up to 5 people. Laurel Cottage offers one queen bedroom, a double with ensuite (and claw footed bath), and a single bedroom.

We love animals and welcome your doggy onvisit (Please ask for approval and let us know what dog you have and we can then confirm if fits our propoerty) A one off $40 pet fee applies. Minimum stays and confirmation are to be confirmed by house owners. 

Now you’re on fire

The primary source of heating in this home is the split system. However, we appreciate that some of our guests might like the ambience of a real wood fire. To that end, we’ve organsied a fire pack should you wish to snuggle up.

The pack contains all the items you’d need for a two night stay and to cover materials and cleaning costs, can be purchased for just $25.00.

If you need more firewood, it can be purchased from the Maldon hardware shop in Main Street.
