Sunday House is an ode to the most relaxing day of the week and a tip of the hat to this ex-Sunday School, which will soothe your soul the minute you step inside. This stylish 1865 architecturally converted Welsh Baptist church is slick, luxury holiday rental at its finest - right in the heart of Maldon’s historic township.

Heritage listed and meticulously renovated, there are wood-lined loft ceilings, black strapped beams and 3 metre high arched windows looking out over Maldon's stunning streetscapes. Within this magnificent leafy space, the living area has a 10 seater formal dining table, huge fireplace, large comfy lounge, smart TV, Sonos speaker system, pool table, games, office and library nook.

Sleeping 8, Sunday House has 3 queen bedrooms, 1 master king room and 2 bathrooms with large glass walk-in showers, hairdryers and organic Castile soap. Each of the bedrooms have been designed for absolute comfort and are complemented with contemporary art.

The well appointed chef’s kitchen, has every appliance needed to whip up a spectacular meal.  Dine in the formal dining room or enjoy a more relaxed meal at the large sunny, rustic kitchen table. To further soak in the surrounds, simply open the double french doors to the large deck and sprawling entertainers yard.

Outside you can enjoy a shady dining space, gas BBQ, fireplace/pizza oven and large lawn. We LOVE dogs - so Sunday House is pet friendly, with secure fencing. Well behaved ‘Gooood boooys & giiiiirrllls’ only!

The owners, an artist and an ex-hotelier have spent years dreaming up this space. They have created a delicious feast for the eyes and mind, which is too good not to share. The house features a curated collection of art by renowned and up-and-coming Melbourne print-makers and artists. (With an onsite Print Makers Studio, coming late 2019!)

There are multiple places to just ‘be’ at Sunday House - It's perfect for a getaway with friends or family, boutique occasions or a more structured retreat. With a decked out office and extensive library, you can also steal time and stay a little longer to write, work or create.

It’s a place to do everything or nothing at all - a place where every day is your perfect Sunday!

What an amazing stay!!

Our family stayed for a long weekend at the Sunday house and it was amazing. The house is fully equipped with all that you need, spotless warm and well thought out. Our kids watched tv in the hall while we were in the kitchen dining room cooking over a glass of wine. The sonos speakers were well used being able turn off and on in different areas while the kids were asleep. The games, cubby house and the pool table were great to entertain in the cold nights! The layout of the house and multiple dining areas really allowed us to relax and have quiet moments which is what we wanted!! Just a great house and great town to visit. Will be back!

It was our pleasure to have your family stay with us. We are delighted you were able to enjoy your escape to the country and experience Maldon and Sunday House.

Beautiful house, great town.

The house was delightful. Huge spaces we could all enjoy, grand dining, lovely master suite. Although we stayed in on all 3 nights, no problems being entertained. The music system was welcome and the pool table got a beating. Beautifully furnished, the indoor plants gave a classy feel. Outdoor areas are great too, the large veranda is perfect for a coffee. Would definitely recommend a stay. The location is perfect as it’s a short walk to kids park, shops, and railway station. We will return when the steam train is running again. Thanks Jamie, for welcoming us with a cosy house on arrival.

The Sunday House is the place to beat all sundays!

Wow! What an incredible location. This beautifully remodelled Baptist church has everything you could possibly want and need for the ultimate relaxation destination. The ’old timey’ charm of the town is perfectly captured within The Sunday House combined with all of the modern conveniences you could ask for. One of these modern conveniences includes the Sonos system which allows for awesome music quality all over the entire house. Perfect for family stays and allows for older teens to have their own rooms and space to get comfy. With a spacious and fully equipped kitchen family cooking was greatly enjoyed, accompanied with the multiple dinning tables and awesome outdoor dining area. We took the opportunity for family picnics under the gorgeous shady trees in the back yard which was added to even further by the wide variety of board games provided! With everything just a stones throw away, the village lifestyle is encapsulating. Can’t wait to stay again!

Wow! Arrived at night time and was in awe by the attention to detail. Every nook has been carefully thought out and well designed down to the finest point of the soap dispenser in the shower. Highly recommend a group getaway here. Loads to do around town but also great to relax in the lavish accommodation and group eating areas. Will be back!!!

Everything you need

Sunday house was a truly beautiful experience and comfort stay for our families. We had 2 families with kids and there was enough room to not only accommodate us all but also keep out the noise of kids when you want to sleep in. A great outdoor space with cubbie, pool table inside and loads of board games the kids were not disappointed. For the adults it provided a kitchen any chef would be happy to cook in and beautiful space to just hang out, read a book and enjoy a glass of wine around the fire. We absolutely loved our time at Sunday house and will be definitely booking in another trip.

Wow! What an incredible getaway

This place has literally everything you could possibly wish for for a special weekend away and it's even dog friendly which is such a rarity in a property of this calibre. We had such a lovely break, cooked some amazing meals in a kitchen that was better appointed than our own and took some leisurely strolls through the township of Maldon which is right on the doorstep. Lots of wine and open fires. We will be back!!

You won't want to leave

Wow, no one who stays here will be disappointed!! From the moment you walk in you feel that you’ve arrived somewhere special. Every single room and area (and there are many) is a beautiful space. We stayed in the house with our kids and another family. The large open plan areas provided heaps of spots where we could all sit together for drinks and meals, and the generous gardens gave the kids (and adults) yet another area to hang out and explore. Heaps of space for everyone. And if you can tear yourself away from the beautiful house, you’re perfectly positioned to walk out your front door and explore the town of Maldon, which is pretty special too.

All my Sundays all at once

Wow, Sunday House was all my best Sundays all at once. Open fire place with a glass of red. Sleep ins and a cup of tea. Slow walking, fast talking exploring. Snow flakes and fun times. Spent the most divine weekend with a gaggle of girls and Sunday House did not disappoint and we will definitely be back to this beautiful home that balances perfectly high style with home comforts. Thank you!!!
