Willow Cottage

With its majestic willow tree and pretty garden setting, Willow Cottage is the perfect studio oasis from which to enjoy your Maldon getaway. A renovated free-standing bungalow, Willow Cottage sits behind the main house and is accessed via a semi-private entrance. The contemporary interior, in a neutral palette, contains a comfortable queen bed with quality linen and delivers a warm and inviting feel. The Cottage has reverse-cycle air-conditioning which ensures year-round comfort, and a large, flat screen TV/DVD player. A practical kitchenette with microwave, tea and coffee-making facilities, toaster and fridge caters for basic meals. There is also a bespoke bathroom with walk-in shower, vanity and toilet, and an adjoining wardrobe. We supply ground coffee, tea and milk for your stay.

We try to be as eco-friendly as possible, with organic soap & body wash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion in wall-mounted dispensers. Refuse can easily be sorted into recyclables, organic waste for compost, and rubbish. Even the waste bags are biodegradable. The property also generates solar power.

In a quiet location, Willow Cottage is an easy 10 minute walk to cafes, shops, galleries and everything else Maldon has to offer. Bush walks to the Rock of Ages and Mount Tarrengower are moments away. Perfect for a busy weekend or a quiet mid-week stay. Discounted rates for two or more nights. Bike riders and walkers are encouraged.

Beautiful Stay

We had the most beautiful stay in Willow Cottage! Jamie was incredibly hospitable & generous with his knowledge of the local area and the cottage was perfect - cozy, clean and so charming. Watching the sunset from Tarrengower Lookout; fish & chips at the Maldon Hotel; swimming at Lake Cairn Curran; the Sunday Market bursting with fresh produce — we loved every minute. Golden Maldon indeed!

Quiet and relaxing

We stayed several nights in the Willow Cottage. The cottage is light and spacious with a fantastic garden where we were able to sit under the tress to unwind during the day. It is also an easy walk to the main street Maldon and also located to trails that head up to the top of Mount Tarrengower. Our stay was very relaxing and comfortable. The owners have done a fantastic job in the presentation of the accomodation. Thank you Jamie, for organising the accomodation here.

Willow Cottage

Willow Cottage was an exceptional cottage. It was very quiet and private. It also had lovely garden surrounds. The inside of the cottage just felt like home, it was beautifully laid out. Close to the centre of Maldon which was great. I would definitely recommend this cottage to others.

Adventurous yet relaxing getaway

From the wonderful friendly greeting that we received on arrival from host Jamie to the fresh baked croissant and coffee we bought before our drive home our weekend was picture perfect. Maldon is one idyllic small town packed with historic adventure for everyone and Willow Cottage was the perfect place for us to rest and recharge from the adventures at the end of the day, surrounded by a beautiful country garden and song birds. The impeccably kept cottage supplies all that you need, a sumptuous bed to fall into at the end of the day, intimate table setting for all the wonderful local goods you are sure to pick up in town and a spa like rainwater head to clean of the dust from walking the Rock of Ages track. The main street of Maldon was buzzing with activity, friendly locals popping in and out of shops, sitting outside cafes and enjoying the warm spring weather. Must Visits are: - Much Ado is a story book style general store selling all the household goods essentials for country life from gorgeous cookware to bottles of local wine and everything in between. - Le Sel will serve you up a delicious French feast and help you with some cheese to go with the wine you bought. - Shops throughout the main street are filled with beautiful local artworks, sustainable homewares and locally made jewellery and stationary. You will not want for things to do and it is likely that you will leave with a whole list of things that you need to come back for. We sure did and we'll be sure to book at Willow Cottage on our next visit.

Thank you so much. It's great to come together as a town and have offerings that make visitors really enjoy our little town. Such a great review and of course we want you back! Jamie

Jamie organised accommodation in this delightful little cottage at very short notice. It has everything a couple or single person could possibly need in a charming garden setting. Large shower, comfortable bed and perfect temperature courtesy heating/cooling. As well as microwave and large fridge for all those yummy takeaway meals from Maldon’s cafes. Jamie is SO helpful, as always. HE should have been running the quarantine hotels!

We had two beautiful ‘escape’ nights away, in this cute little Willow Cottage. There was everything we needed. The bed and shower were great. Jamie is an excellent manager of the property, with extensive knowledge of where to go and what to do. Brilliant xx

Thank you for choosing Maldon Getaways and Willow Cottage for your getaway! We would love to welcome you again.

Relaxing Stay

Willow Cottage is ideal if you don't want to rent a whole house. Very clean and cozy, comfortable bed and well equipped with a separate modern bathroom. Set in a lovely cottage garden only a 1.5 km stroll to the center of town for coffee, dinner etc. Would consider staying there again.
